I'm performing in a show this next week in San Francisco. I'm driving up from the central coast tomorrow morning with my little and hubby. Then my artist friends and I are locking ourselves up in the Garage to create a new show. We're sharing it with the city and our west coast fans January 11th and 12th. Meet Taylor Augustine. She's a beautiful old soul with compelling stories to tell through glances, dances and mesmerizing eyes. She was the muse for my BFA concert and for this shoot. Taylor is moving away which is hard to grasp. She's one of those people who's presence, heart and soul are unforgettable. As a person and dancer she shines brighter than the stars. It's been an honor to get to know her while we were in school together and I look forward to following her adventures in New York.

We met for this shoot on a beautiful snowy day. She danced, I took photos, it was perfect. The best way to spend a day with a friend who is moving away. I hope you enjoyed these as much as I did taking them.

I usually don't write posts having to do with politics here, I post my photos and talk about art but, lately it seems hard to focus on anything else but following the recent Occupy events. The students at UC Davis, Scott Olsen, Zuccotti Park... It's painful watching what's happening to these liberty fighters. I find it hard to believe that some people think things are fine the way they are. How can they be so blind? We're headed to a dangerous place economically but more importantly we're walking a very serious line morally.

I'm proud of the peaceful protests and excited by the powerful current moving through the world inspiring; conversation, critical thinking and compassion. I hope I can teach my son to have integrity, to speak up against injustice, to have the heart and mind to truly listen to other people's opinions and a never ending desire to love. I believe this is where the future lies. Perhaps this revolution is one of love and light. I sign my blog posts, letters and emails with "love and light" and I mean it every time, it's my heart's most simple message... to care about the world around me and light the world with love. This revolution may be a quieter one, but it's extremely important. I'll continue to Occupy the Light, pray for those on the front lines of the occupy movement and most importantly pass this on to the next generation.

Meet Charlie Dando, Prof. Chaos and an all around awesome dancer. We had a great time running around the University of Colorado at Boulder Campus. We did not sneak into chemistry labs, break anything in the library or act suspicious around the biology building... I'm just saying, in case you were wondering. We did however have a great time dancing, laughing and losing our keys in the library... okay maybe that part wasn't so fun.

Did you know that Charlie can fly through the aisles of the library, did you catch that one? That particular shot was hilarious to capture. Charlie had to jump while I shot as quick as possible then rolling into an aisle before he tumbled over my spot. Crazy and exhilarating. If only we had that sequence on camera. Fun times!

Decaying surfaces, facades wearing slowly away, the gradual revelation of the underlying resilient form: the sculptural/geological process of aging.

This site-specific movement theatre meditation approaches aging as an on-going process of reduction toward a fully exposed self. It explores the experience of those layers deteriorating through pressure, friction, and time, leaving us exposed and vulnerable; and it seeks the firm, clear core underneath that only grows stronger under these pressures.

Control Group Productions, the permanent resident dance company of The Packing House Center for the Arts, approaches live performance as a single medium, ignoring the articificial boundaries of traditional genres. Through seeking the material that best fulfills each project concept, CGP creates unique new works that span the spectrum of dance, theatre, music, and visual art.

Meet Mimi.

She is an amazing dancer and artist, and one of the funniest people I have ever worked with. We had an awesome time doing these photos. Mimi brought a plethora of costumes and a bunch of balloons which looked great against the winter wonderland of snow. We were a little concerned about the snow storm but luckily it slowed down just in time for us to play! It was so much fun. I love the way fresh snow makes an ordinary day extraordinary and magical.

This photo shoot was a collaboration between the dancers and myself for the PR of their upcoming
show "Much unseen is also here," and was inspired by Alice in Wonderland with a Surrealist spin. I
absolutely love whimsical images and photographing dance, so this shoot was so much fun for me!

I will say it a million times over, I love what I do and I have amazing clients. Some of my favorite portraits to do are those of dancers and artists. I enjoy watching them do their thing and capturing their hearts and souls in the moment. It is truly a joy. 2010 has been filled with so many beautiful moments and these are just a few of my favorites. I am so excited to see what 2011 will bring. I am open and ready to experience it in one of the best places in the world, behind my camera watching these amazing people.

Dance: Of Bodies and Branches

It is my favorite time of year; the fall wind is embracing the last few days of summer and the CU dancers are preparing for a beautiful season of art and dance. The major dance season at the University of Colorado at Boulder starts this weekend with Of Bodies and Branches. My dear friend Nicole Dagesse is presenting her MFA thesis through a site specific dance performance in Roosevelt National Forest outside of Boulder. It is a blessing that this beautiful location was not touched by the recent Fourmile Canyon Fire.

Of Bodies and Branches sensitively explores the energetic and kinesthetic interaction of human and nature. In a piece that examines the extremes of environment, the tree becomes the connecting figure between earth and sky. While the roots reach and grip the deep earth, the branches extend and spiral toward the heavens. Delicately perched, you can hear the murmuring between worlds.

Dancers roll and melt, scurry and suspend, dive and reach.

Bodies appear to bubble out of stone and roll off the hillside,

demonstrating the immense life all around you.

Original scores composed by the musicians beckon you

further into the piece, into the site.

The melancholy strings and pulsing percussion

give voice to the whispered secrets of the land.

Dancers emerge from the landscape as if born of stone,

emphasizing the similarities of limbs,

while contrasting delicate skin against hard, coarse stone.

You will not want to miss this beautiful experience.

It has been quite some time since my last post. Life has taken over lately and I have been indulging in every moment and going with the flow. I am now 6 months pregnant and enjoying the subtle changes I am noticing in myself each day. Time has flown by just as everyone said it would, before we know it this little baby will be here.

Chris and I found out that we are having a little boy. A joyful little boy who I am sure is going to grow up to be an amazing man like his father. We have been thinking of names, reading everything we can and talking about our little boy like he is already in our arms... walking... going to school... playing in the backyard...falling in love. As a first time mother, I am so excited by everything and I often have many questions which I am sure will not always find answers for but rather more questions and surprising answers.

Having a child has also brought up other things for me. It has stirred my life in new ways and made me really analyze myself, my values, my family and the world. I have people in my life that want to tell me how things are going to, should and need to be... so much advice that it makes my head spin and others who gently offer ideas or thoughts but emphasize that in the end it is my choice, that I will figure it out what is best for my little one and that they are there for me if I ever need them. I guess it never occurred to me how much having a child would change the dynamics in many of my relationships. The main relationship that all of this has enhanced is that with my mister. We are more of a team than ever and he is already the best father in the world. He has been so attentive, patient and thoughtful, always asking me how I am doing, telling me I am beautiful on days when I feel like a house and listening to me as I talk through my thoughts and feelings about this next adventure we are taking together. I am so lucky and I know our little boy is going to feel the same way.

The physical changes have been interesting, don't worry I wont go into all of the details. Since finding out I was pregnant, I instantly felt like my body was not only mine anymore but, a home for this little seed. Then a few weeks ago, my belly really popped out giving me a super feminine mama body. I woke up in the morning, stepped out of bed and felt like an alien in my own body. I literally felt like I was watching myself from above wondering who was standing there. I have since come back into my body and while I still feel a little foreign, I am adjusting. Baby Gray is a little mover and shaker already. He dances after I eat, when I lay down and as I go to sleep, Chris and I stare at my belly as it moves wondering if a little alien is going to pop its head out.

Baby Gray also got very excited as Chris and I cheered during the World Cup, especially during the final game. Chris is already looking forward to watching the next one with his three year old little boy, a thought that makes me smile from inside out. I wonder who he will root for?

26 Weeks.

I am now totally in maternity clothes. Luckily I have some awesome friends who gave me their baby belly clothes they didn't need anymore and my amazing Aunt Bev who treated me to some super cute things from the Gap. It is amazing how much one can spend on all of these things before the baby even comes out! So many things that you "need" to buy or "should" have, it is crazy. There is a side to me that thinks about raising a baby in the forest, just carrying him on my back and sleeping under the stars. No, I don't plan to move to some remote forest or sell my belongings and live in a commune, I am too plugged into the world for that. Moving to Europe for a few years while Baby Gray is small is appealing, especially if Mr. Gray was offered a good research opportunity out there, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I guess that is all for now. I haven't been writing as much as I had planned during this pregnancy but, I think that is okay as it is a reminder that my plans will always be changing with this little bean in tow. Here is to staying open to the abundant changes coming my way, and swaying like a tree in the wind of motherhood while maintaining and cultivating my roots.

I am so happy to have come across the sweetest blog Baby and Wool through Peonies and Polaroids. I have been looking for a few small things to crochet for Baby Gray and these booties are perfect. Fay at Baby and Wool has generously provided the pattern to make them, hazah!

Dear Baby Gray,

I can't wait to put these little guys on your tiny feet. It may take a few tries to get the pattern but, I have 4 months to do it. You will be born in October, so we will need some little booties to keep your baby toes-ies warm since it will start to get very cold here in Colorado around that time.

I felt you kick for the first time last night and ran upstairs to tell your Papa. It was the strangest and happiest moment I have experienced thus far. If you are anything like me, you will start dancing up a storm in my belly soon, and I will of course start dancing with you when that happens.

I had the funniest dream about you last night. You were 4 years old and told me that I needed to eat some bacon and oatmeal for breakfast. I think it is great that you already know what you like. I hope you liked your breakfast.

P.S. This is Gir, who we lovely refer to as Gir-cat, Girggles and Gir-face. This is pretty much what he does all day. He was our first furry family member, and has a very big heart and appetite. “The measure of a society is it’s

integration of the arts into everyday life.”

A few years ago, I decided to go back to school for a BFA in Dance. I have always wanted to study dance extensively with dreams of having my own company and making my own place in the dance world. This dream is still in my mind, but as I come within weeks of my graduation I have been reconsidering where my dance degree will take me. Looking back from when I began in the dance program, I can see that I have grown immensely as a person, dancer and artists. Through this growth, I have found a new path that I hadn't considered, combining my two majors, Dance and Art History. This new path is an exciting one where I find myself as more of an arts advocate than a choreographer. My heart truly wants to fight for the arts and bring dance to everyday life. I know this isn't a revolutionary idea and people have dedicated their lives to doing this kind of work for centuries, but for me this is a new idea, a new way of seeing myself. So as I step away from the university institution and make my way into the real world, I have a new outlook on where I am going. Congratulations to my fellow dancers and graduating class, I have learned so much from each and every one of you and I can't wait to see where your paths take you.

May this next step in your life be filled with love, light and happiness.

A friend of mine introduced me to Chuck Palahniuk awhile back when Fight Club first came out. I really enjoy his work and especially enjoy this quote. I think it is very honest to make a statement like this; "Nothing of me is original" because often artists think they are original or at least strive to be that, but I believe that we are vessels for the creative to come through which combines with our surroundings of people and things. As an artist I constantly feel I am presenting a montage of images, moments and/or choreography. I don't think that I "came up with it" because I feel a connection to something bigger than myself. Sometimes I come up with something and I have no idea where it came from, and I acknowledge it as something magical in the world that can't be explained that I opened my heart to and allowed come through me. Perhaps you could say that my work can be seen as presented through my lens or point of view but really, I just watch the world around me and consciously or unconsciously combine elements of it that I find pleasing. Maybe this makes me more of a found objects kind of artist although by combining these moments and things, I am composing something different. I wouldn't call it original... perhaps an original point of view? It is most definitely, "the combined effort of everybody I've ever known," or everything I have ever seen. If you listen very carefully, you can tap into that creative force... whatever you believe that is. I believe it is our creator whispering. Maybe I am a vessel or maybe I am just doing what I was meant to?

Baby Gray's first picture. 8 weeks.

Dear wonderful husband, You are an amazing man and I know you are going to make one fantastic father. Watching you play with our neighborhood kiddos makes me smile so big because I know that our little one will love to hang out with you and will always feel like they are the most important thing in the world. Thank you for being so patient with me while I have been "all-day sick." You have kept the house running and been cooking up a storm to feed me and our little peach. Thank you for running to the store to buy me eggos and cheesy broccoli... I have no idea where that craving came from and the thought of it now makes me scratch my head but at the time it was the best meal ever. I am so excited to be on this new adventure with you. You are my puzzle piece.

Dear morning sickness, I never knew you and I would spend day and night together. I think you should be renamed all-day super sickness/madness. We have had a solid run, but I think our time has come to part. Please don't call or write, I need to move on... and you can guarantee that I will not forget you anytime soon.

Dear house, I know I have been neglecting you. Please don't worry, I feel the 2nd semester's magical energy coming and I know that you will be back to normal soon.

Dear Tia and Koa, Our pack is growing and I think you can sense it because you both follow me around more than ever and wag your tails and give me kisses when I am taking naps on the couch. You are both going to be the best brother and sister to our new little human puppy.

Dear Oc-cat and Gir-gles, Thank you for snuggling with me when I am feeling sick and keeping my feet warm at night. I think it is really sweet that you have started sleeping on my tummy because you are cuddling with the little peach baby. Meow.

Dear baby peach, little human puppy, lima bean, bundle of joy, bun-in-the-oven and loved little-one, I don't know if I will ever be able to explain to you the joy I feel in being your mother. I am honored that you have chosen your papa and I to be your parents. We already love you so much and talk about you often. Your papa snuggles with my belly and we both can't wait to snuggle with you in person and give you little kisses. I keep having dreams about you but I know that you are going to be more far more amazing than any little-one I dream about. We are going to find out if you are a girl or a boy in a few weeks and start to think of names for you. I am doing my best to take care of you and have noticed that you like it when I eat lots of fruit and protein. Your papa and I like to snuggle, sing and dance with you. WHEN THERE’S NOTHING LEFT TO BURN YOU HAVE TO SET YOURSELF ON FIRE. Raze the debris of the image-icon-anti-cult like a derelict high-rise of spent cultural currency. Then dance on the ashes. This isn’t dissection of super-stardom, just a glorious conflagration.

This is a movement performance in two parts: a fire and a dream of fire. The first setting is a raised stage in the round. It begins as a rock concert and explodes into the remnant shards of extreme presentation the image of emotion and dysfunction. The second part exists in a separate space, the hazy, blurred dream of movement and imagery, smoke reconstituting into its previous object form.

Control Group’s medium is live performance (occasionally also video), using all available tools to make the work at hand. The purpose and process dictate the form of the product. If that’s just a bunch of crap to you: Control Group is a dance theatre company working in a different style for each piece. This one has dancing, singing, yelling, pop music, velvet curtains, and a raised stage, among other things.

We went on an adventure in a field near my home armed with my camera and Kelsey's brilliant improvisational skills. I find so much joy in photographing dancers as they travel into their own space while allowing me to tag along. These are a few of my favorite dance images.

Ramblings: the value of dance

Lately I find myself walking the line of providing dance photography for starving artists, documenting performances and trying to make a living. It is a difficult place for me because as a dancer I understand the community and I know that most choreographers don't budget for photography and instead have a friend of a friend do it. By doing this they save money, get photographs they may or may not like and in the end challenge the value of photography as an art. Dancers want images but they want them for free. I find this challenging because I love photographing dance and I want what I do to be of value. I work through the lens of a dancer, art historian, visual artist and photographer. I am trying at developing my own place in dance photography, one that expresses the emotional aspects of dance, use of space, composition and capturing the fleeting moments that make the audience hold their breath. My desire to redefine dance photography is to showcase dance in a raw and honest manner. I want to show people what it feels like to fly across the stage, and pause as you feel your heart beat and the heat of the lights. This desire comes from studying dance and experiencing the nature of a live art form that exists in one space and one time, you can video it and document it through photography, but it really cannot be reproduced. It isn't like a painting or sculpture that can exist in any space and any time. My point in all of this is that I want dance to have another voice and means for communication. I want to highlight the dancer and the importance of their work.

While evaluating my role as a dance photographer, dancer and choreographer I find myself looking at dance as a whole. As one of my dance professors says, "Dance is the ugly step sister of the art world." It is a struggling art and one that not many can make a living in. In the dance world we ask so many people to do things for free or "for the love of the art." Dancers are not paid, choreographers and producers often find themselves in debt, musicians are paid very little...etc. What would the world be like if we placed value on these things, if dancers were paid better or at all, choreographers didn't have to take out loans to present their work... would this change the view of art in this country. I feel like we are defining our value by omitting it. I know that it isn't all about money, but at the end of the day most dancers and choreographers have multiple jobs to do what they love and to enrich the cultural and art communities they find themselves in. We want the world to value what we do, but we want everything to be done for free... this type of business plan is not one of longevity. I don't think that I have the perfect solution to this problem, but I do think we need to come together as a community and place more cultural and financial value on this art form. Imagine a world where dance artists could focus solely on their work and be able to support themselves. We need this.

This is my new favorite show. Picture This, is a competition of photographers to win the prize of an exhibition and a book deal. These photographers are given a specific assignment, they do the shoot and then their work is professionally critiqued. I would love to experiment and participate in this kind of environment. In the world of reality TV and competitive shows, this is one I will actually Tivo. It doesn't hurt that it is filmed in England and that I find british accents charming... oh and that it is all about photography. Ovation TV is the best (art, dance, music and more!)

Mourning Light.

The talented and radical Alexander McQueen took his own life today. A true artist in every sense of the word, he now joins a circle of artists who also found the real world unbearable. Aristotle wrote that artists have tendencies of melancholia, and I couldn't agree more. There is an element of method acting as an artist; living, eating and breathing your work. In my own work, I play in the darkness to find a balance in the light. I don't think an artist's mind can be explained but I have seen and studied many tortured souls who are abnormally attracted to the dark side. It is my hope that these star crossed lovers/haters of the world find peace in whatever circle they find themselves, in this world and beyond. Rest in Peace Mr. McQueen.

I had a fantastic time photographing this amazing group of dancers at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The above pictures are a few of my favorite moments. This particular show is produced, designed, choreographed and danced by the students in the dance program. It is called Open Space and was created with the opportunity for the undergraduates and graduates to present exciting and new works. The 2010 performance features choreography by Anthony Alterio, Bria Dickenson, Amy Dillahunty, Josselyn Levinson, Brittney Kirkpatrick, DeShawn Marshall, Anna Mayer, Lyndia McGauhey, Sexton McGrath, Julie Murphy, and Mollie Wolf.

I came across this list of reasons to be thankful on Peace and Pandemonium and I felt like I really needed to hear it today. With everything that is going on in the world, especially the earthquake in Haiti, it is good to be thankful for what you have. I try to keep things in perspective but I often need a few nudges and reminders. Sometimes life is as simple as changing the lens you are looking through.

On Monday night I went to City O' City in Denver with some friends. City O' City is described as a "café in the european sense of the word," and is a great place to hang out with friends from early in the morning to late at night. They use local and organic ingredients as much as possible and make everything from scratch.

My girlfriends and I shared a delicious hummus and feta appetizer and a bottle of wine. The freshly baked flatbread was perfectly crispy and soft. We also shared a la chagall Pizza. It has an apricot sauce and is topped with brie, fresh tarragon, greek olives and roasted garlic. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. This pizza is amazing and completely worth a trip to Denver. I think I will have to bring my hubby there for a date night since he loves brie even more than me.

My friend Vernon took these photos of my BFA concert. Not being able to photography my own work was hard for me because I really wanted to do it... but I couldn't dance, direct and be the photographer. Perhaps if I cloned myself this would be possible, but until then I have some amazingly talented friends to count on.

This last image was one that I knew I wanted. I didn't say anything to Vernon, but somehow he knew. When I received his cd with the images I quickly looked through them and this one made my heart shine. Somehow he captured exactly what I wanted and more because he saw it in his own way.

Vernon is an amazing photographer, dancer, choreographer and friend. I was honored to have him photograph my show. I am one lucky girl.

These images are from my BFA concert/thesis. I am planning on revisiting this work or possible resetting it, depending on how quickly I can get a show together and if my dancers are still in Boulder. I had an amazing time working on this concert and was lucky to work with some amazing souls. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Next I will be writing grants and looking for venues. I will keep you posted. It is both exciting and scary transitioning into the "real world" as an artist. Being a student you are lucky to have an easily accessible venue, PR and a budget to produce a concert... in the "real world" these are very very very expensive things. I am motivated, inspired and have a few partners in crime to take this journey with. There are exciting times ahead! Here we go!

This is me and my good friend Esme (red coat). She is fantastically amazing. We are graduating together and I couldn't be more proud to show my own work next hers. She created a piece of work that I will remember forever. The details and creativity were so very Esme.

Some of the reasons that she is one of my favorites is she is what she is; straight forward, funny, incredibly talented, hilarious, ruthless in art, ambitious, kind and inspiring. I am lucky to have her as a friend and even luckier to experience her brilliant work. I can't wait to do another show with this one.

Hubby and I are dressing up as a dark version of Alice and the Mad Hatter this year. A few years ago we were Leeloo and Korban Dallas... I think this has been my favorite costumes combination to date. Halloween is my favorite holiday, I wish it happened more often. A few years ago I had a Halloween inspired birthday party in July at Ciao Bella in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I just found out that they closed their doors... such sad news. This was the coolest restaurant; cabaret dancers, drag-queens, barbies on the walls, servers with squirt guns, great Italian food, anything goes atmosphere and loads of fun fun fun. I was hoping to eat there the next time I was in the Bay Area.

It is saturday morning. Normally I would be off to rehearsal with my 13 amazing dancers... but our show was last weekend and now we are done. I am not a morning person, but I loved waking up on Saturdays, eager to rehearse and hang out with these friends. I am sad to not spend the morning with these beautiful souls. Perhaps I will have to create something new to bring us all back together.

My friend Marlene introduced me to photographer, Fan Ho who is currently represented by the Modernbook Gallery in Palo Alto, California. I was instantly inspired and excited by his work. He took these images over 50 years ago which I find incredibly intriguing since his work is so modern. He has received over 280 awards from international photography contests and exhibitions and also teaches as a "guest professor" at universities around the world.

Seeing Hong Kong through Ho's lens is like stepping into a fantasy world where light plays along the walls with a whimsical sense of humor . His perspective gives the impression of a well designed and thought out scene, but perhaps they were captured through chance? The title of his exhibition, The Living Theatre, lends itself to the former, although my child-like imagination prefers to think these moments existed in real time. His use of shadows to highlight shapes and figures mixed with a suspension of movement is breathtaking. I would love to step into Fan Ho's Hong Kong Yesterday for a weekend and watch the magic unfold.

I am vulnerable

I think one of the most vulnerable things that I do as an artist is to show my work. I just finished tech-ing my dance concert this weekend. For non-dancers, this means that I put my work in the space and met with the lighting designer to create the feeling I am trying to convey through light. This time is also for the stage managers, tech hands and dancers to get comfortable in the space and with the material.

I am presenting a twenty minute piece that is the culmination of my BFA degree and my experience this past year with losing two very important people in my life. There is a side of me that worries about what people are going to think... are they going to like it? But then I remember that it really doesn't matter. I am saying what I want to say and whoever "gets it" will get it. Art is so subjective, especially modern dance. So knowing this, I know that when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter what people think about my work. I have put my heart and soul into it and the audience's experience is just that, their experience. When watching dance, I enjoy having a personal experience with the work, finding my own story and emotions, not the ones that the choreographer/artist wants me to necessarily. I need to remember this. I also need to remember how vulnerable this process can make you and honor that, it is the beauty of expression.

We picked this image for the poster of our BFA concert. I am so excited because this puts us one step closer to presenting our work in this concert. It was a lot of fun taking the PR photos, but also challenging because I needed to be in the group shots. To make this happen, I had hubby come along and take these shots. I set up the camera, directed the dancers and hubby snapped away. We make a great team and I am ever so grateful to have a husband who cares so much about what I do. I am equally nervous and excited about this show. I feel like I have so much to do but I also know that when it comes down to it, I am on time and will be ready for this show. I have an amazing group of 15 dancers and we have been working hard for months. They are all so wonderful and inspire me in different ways, I don't know what I would do without them. I tend to work by utilizing the talents and personalities of my dancers and allowing them to be themselves within the framework of my choreography. I can't wait to sit back and watch them dance this piece of work... to let go and allow them to take it to the next level. I know they are going to do a fantastic job. I am honored to have been able to work with these beautiful souls.

Another thing on my mind right now is thinking about work after graduation. I have my photography business which is wonderful, but I a concerned about finding a company to dance for or go off on my own and produce my own show. With the current state of the economy, the arts are not doing so well and dance companies are not hiring as much as they used to. I am just going to have faith that I will find the dance job that I am meant to. I will be also dancing with an aerial dance company Frequent Flyers which will continue to push my feet off of the ground and inspire me.

I can't quite remember were I found this picture, so please forgive me. I am an obsessive note taker and list maker, so this picture made me ever so happy. Before going to bed, my mind races with things that I need to do the next day or things that I need to remember to bring with me, so I like to make lists so that my mind could relax and I can fall asleep. I used to title these lists; "Don't Forget" until a friend of mine told me that our minds only recall the word "Forget" in this instance and that I should be using the word "Remember" instead. I now title my lists "Remember" and I don't seem to "Forget" nearly as much.

I was looking up recipes for couscous and I began to reminisce about the amazing couscous and chicken that I had in Paris at Chez Omar in the 3rd. I really liked the food there. It is officially autumn today based on the Autumn Equinox and it has cooled down drastically in the last few days around Boulder. The leaves are beginning to turn which is one of my favorite parts about the fall, my other love of fall is homemade soup and snuggling with my hubby and our pups and cats on a chilly evening. Hubby has been under the weather, so I made chicken soup for dinner to make him feel better. I am heading up to the mountains this weekend for an engagement shoot with the Apsen trees in the background. This fall is off to a wonderful and enjoyable beginning. This is my favorite season in Colorado, I am loving every minute of it.

I am blessed to be in a BFA class of beautiful souls that shine brighter than a sky of stars when they dance. I am amazed that 4 years have gone by with the blink of an eye and we will be dancing in our graduation/BFA concerts next month. These photos are from a shoot we did together (with my hubby's help for the ones I was in) for the PR of our show.
